Two major Estonian peer-to-peer lenders have reported a record month for loan investment.

Updates from Bondora and Iuvo suggest a boom in P2P lending activity on the continent.

March statistics from Bondora reported new all-time highs for investments and loan originations.

Both topped €23m (£20m), increasing by 21.2 per cent.

Loan originations totalled a record-breaking €23.3m, Bondora said, while investments increased by 12.6 per cent to €23,3m.

The majority of originations came from Finland, at €17.4m.

All Bondora’s markets in Finland, Estonia and The Netherlands saw increases except for Spain.

Finland continues to have the largest share of the loan markets for Bondora, with originations making up a 74.7 per cent share.

The Dutch market makes up 1.6 per cent of originations while Spain still represents 3.6 per cent.
